David Aplin Group has partnered with our client to seek a Licensing & Contracts Specialist to be responsible for contract negotiations and contract management associated with IT contracts. This is a permanent opportunity, available to candidates in Calgary and Edmonton. Responsibilities:Contract Negotiations & ManagementLead contract strategy development and negotiations for IT contracts under $1M in Total contract valueInterpret contracts to identify key business risks, develop mitigations, and communicate recommendations to senior managementNegotiate and administer contract amendments and correspondenceManage contract disputes and escalationsMaintain a centralized repository of all contract documentationAdvise the organization on contract legal rights, risks, and strategies for mitigationLiaise with legal counsel for input on the negotiation of new contractsSoftware License ManagementDevelop and administer software license tracking processesLead software vendor audits and vendor dispute resolutionOversee IT Services Agreement Service Provider to monitor software contract compliance Service provider processesAdvise the organization on software rights and obligationsEnsure the accuracy and auditability of all license transactionsContract ReportingDevelop forecasting future license usage, true-up costs, and service chargesAnalyze vendor spend dataTrack financial benefitsPrepare standard and ad hoc reports and memos for internal clients and senior executivesAcquire and analyze data related to the resolution of contract and financial disputesDevelop contract-related business cases including commercial and financial strategies, risk implications, and comprehensiveness in accordance with company guidelinesQualifications:Business degree with specific education in the areas of Commerce, Business/Contract law, Accounting, or related fieldsMinimum 7-10 years of supply chain/procurement/contract experienceMinimum 5-7 years of experience within a technology-oriented organization with a complex infrastructureExperience in outsourced IT environments, whether as a client or an external Service ProviderExperience working and a multi-national, matrix organizationProven contract negotiation skillsAbility to develop strategic vendor relationshipsHighly organized with the ability to adapt to multiple prioritiesStrong analytical skillsFamiliarity with Information Technology concepts and structuresStrong communications skills (oral & written), interpersonal, and customer service skillsCapability to understand changes and issues required to make correct commercial decisionsProficiency with Word, Adobe, Excel, and SharePoint is essentialSCMP (Supply Chain Management Professional) designation or similar would be an assetJob ID: AA898909119 If you are interested in this position and meet the qualifications, apply today We thank all applicants; however, only those who are authorized to work in Canada or are selected for an interview will be contacted.
