The Sushi Chef 1 is responsible for preparing recipes and hot & cold food items in accordance to standard operating procedures. We are looking for individuals who have a solid knowledge of food, have creativity and flair and are able to evidence good business acumen and a strong work ethic. Applicants are required to have two years of operational kitchen experience with a diversity of culinary experience and a proven track record in fine dining. Strong knowledge of Japanese seafood, fish, product, and terminology is highly preferred. A culinary degree is highly preferred, however not essential with relevant work experience.Candidates must have valid work authorization for the U.S.NOBUSet cliff side overlooking a protected marine preserve, Nobu Lana'i offers sweeping panoramic views and innovative Japanese cuisine. Drawing upon Chef Matsuhisa's classical training as a sushi chef in Tokyo, his life abroad in South America and his travels around the world, his culinary style blends classical techniques with exotic global flavors. Nobu Lana'i showcases signature new-style Japanese cuisine, as well as new creations infusing local ingredients.
