Working in our Neurology Department offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in advanced diagnostic imaging, including CT scans and MRI procedures. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES: Restrain animals for neurological examinations, procedures, and treatments. Prepare prescriptions as ordered by the doctor: Appropriate container, labeling, directions, and warnings. Perform laboratory procedures. Assist in performing diagnostic studies, including radiography, CT, and MRI. Basic inventory and stocking duties. Basic surgical duties: Prepare the surgical suite and anesthesia equipment; pull instruments & open room; scrub & assist in surgery as needed; break down & clean room; clean, wrap and sterilize packs. Take the patient's vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and respiration. Maintain cleanliness and order in work areas. Consistent, on-time arrival at work each day you are scheduled to work. Excellent communication skills. Ability to work well with others as a team. Flexibility and the ability to adjust to a changing environment. Handle stress and pressure calmly, with poise and tact. Self-motivated, hard worker. Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and delegate appropriately. Willingness and ability to learn new tasks quickly. Ability to receive constructive criticism and accept responsibility for actions. Reliable and dependable. Common sense, good judgment, and a sense of humor. QUALIFICATIONS:High School diploma or equivalent.At least 2 years of experience as a Veterinary Technician is required.Stellar customer service skills are required.Basic computer skills are necessary.Must be able to stand, stoop, walk, and stand for an extended period of time.Required to lift up to forty (40) pounds.
