Job DescriptionPosition Title: Supply Chain Operations ManagerLocation: Barbour CountyOverview:The Supply Chain Operations Manager leads all procurement, materials planning, and inventory management activities to ensure seamless production support and supply continuity. This position plays a key role in shaping strategic sourcing initiatives, optimizing vendor relationships, and aligning supply chain operations with overall business objectives.By overseeing both tactical and strategic functions, this leader ensures operational efficiency, cost effectiveness, and supplier performance excellence across the organization.Primary ResponsibilitiesLead development and execution of new product sourcing strategies to align with corporate and customer requirements.Oversee supplier evaluation, qualification, and ongoing performance management to drive continuous improvement and quality standards.Establish and maintain commodity sourcing strategies that support cost reduction, risk mitigation, and long-term supply stability.Direct raw material procurement, component purchasing, and finished goods planning to meet production and delivery schedules.Utilize ERP systems to forecast demand, plan materials, and balance inventory levels with business priorities and working capital goals.Track and report supply chain metrics such as on-time delivery, inventory turns, and cost savings, implementing corrective measures when needed.Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Production, and Product Management to align material planning with project timelines and technical requirements.Manage the purchasing of maintenance and repair parts to support plant operations.Apply market knowledge and supplier analytics to identify cost optimization opportunities and strengthen the overall supplier base.Provide leadership and mentorship to team members, fostering professional growth and high performance.Oversee departmental budgets, policies, and operating procedures to ensure alignment with corporate standards.Partner with Human Resources in handling employee relations, performance management, recruitment, and staff development.RequirementsEducation:Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations, or related discipline required.Experience:Minimum of 8–10 years of progressive experience in supply chain, procurement, or materials management within a manufacturing environment.At least 5 years in a leadership role with direct responsibility for supplier management, inventory control, and strategic sourcing.Skills and CompetenciesStrong understanding of production planning, material flow, and inventory optimization practices.Background in consumer products, industrial manufacturing, or electronics industries preferred.Proven success in leading supplier development and implementing cost improvement initiatives.Advanced knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software.Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally and communicate effectively at all organizational levels.Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed for supplier visits and business meetings.Self-motivated with strong organizational and leadership capabilities.
