Amazon is currently looking to hire a qualified Structural Engineer to join our team and play a critical role in supporting facility and engineering activity across Amazon's Fulfillment Network. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the design standards of various structural systems across the AFN building programs. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams. This role will be based in Bellevue, WA or in New York, NY. Periodic Travel will be required. This role will report to the Engineering Team Manager based in New York. Key job responsibilitiesKey ResponsibilitiesReview and management of structural design standards, models, and calculation packages. Familiarity and the capacity to review and direct structural analysis using industry-standard software (SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD.Pro, etc.); review calc packages, drawings, specifications, and construction details and ensure designs comply with local building codes and industry standards.Program ManagementCollaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines. Ensure all work meets quality standards and regulatory requirements. Participate in peer reviews and design validation processes. Stay current with building codes, standards, and industry best practices. If you’re passionate about this role and want to make an impact on a global scale, please applyAbout the teamThe Engineering team is responsible for managing the templates, design criteria, specifications and other design basis documentation for Amazon’s Fulfillment Network. This includes reviewing third party design packages, translating business requirements into technical solutions, and conducting studies on existing or new technologies. We value engineers who can identify novel solutions, present convincing business arguments, and excel at program management. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Structural, Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering- Knowledge of design process- Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities- Experience managing projects and working independently- Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities, or experience working with customers with a passion for delivering exceptional service- Experience driving internal cross-team collaboration- Experience working in a customer-facing environment- Minimum 5 years of structural engineering experience with steel, concrete, wood, and masonry design. Proficiency in structural analysis software (SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD.Pro, etc.).
