The Research Assistant I position provides technical assistance in carrying out various research projects. **This is a temporary position that will not exceed 4 1/2 months of employment** JOB FUNCTIONSEssential Functions Conducts experiments and carries out research projects in varied areas of chemistry, biology and other biomedical, dental or related scientific fields. Constructs, assembles and operates laboratory apparatus and equipment. Records and evaluates data in accordance with methods requested. Coordinates meetings to review project status and generates reports to support investigator research oversight. Develops protocol-specific tools and communicates recommendations regarding protocol inconsistencies and requirements. Participates in the development of procedures and workflow processes. EDUCATION:Required: Bachelor's degree, major course work in one of the basic sciences.EXPERIENCE: Required: No experience.Preferred: Experience working with melanoma research at MDA; laboratory experience.
