In this role, you'll support environmental projects and emergency response efforts, working closely with clients, regulatory agencies, and senior team members to deliver effective solutions. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include conducting environmental sampling and monitoring, assisting with project coordination, and contributing to client deliverables.  This position is perfect for candidates with 2-4 years of experience in environmental engineering, geology, or related fields. If you're passionate about environmental stewardship, eager to learn in a fast-paced environment, and possess strong communication and problem-solving skills, we want to hear from you This role offers exciting opportunities for growth and professional development while contributing to meaningful work that shapes a sustainable future.  What you'll bring to the team:  Assist with the coordination of environmental and emergency response projects, including tracking project scope, schedules, budgets, and reporting under the guidance of senior team members.  Support the preparation of technical correspondence, reports, work plans, and cost estimates, while performing data collection, analysis, and comparison to regulatory standards.  Provide on-site assistance for environmental emergencies and fieldwork, traveling as needed to meet client and project requirements.  Maintain and prepare response equipment to ensure readiness for deployment.  Conduct environmental sampling and monitoring for various media and contaminants following established protocols and under supervision.  Collaborate with GHD subject matter experts to contribute to technically accurate project deliverables.  Participate in business development activities, including assisting with proposals and supporting efforts to expand client relationships.  Support visibility initiatives by attending and contributing to regional seminars, conferences, or client events as a representative of GHD.  Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, contributing to effective communication and teamwork across GHD’s service lines.  Be available for afterhours response to attend environmental emergencies to perform field tasks throughout the USA. Must be willing to travel as needed to meet client requirements.  Research, design, plan, and perform engineering duties in the prevention, control, and remediation of environmental hazards using various engineering disciplines. Work may include waste treatment, site remediation, or pollution control technology. Responsibilities: Data Collection and Analysis: Collate and analyze data using preset tools, methods, and formats. Involves working independently. Engineering Drawings: Create engineering drawings to support the communication, evaluation, and implementation of engineering solutions. Engineering Solutions Design: Contribute to the design of engineering solutions; design the feasibility testing approach and supervise its implementation to support the development and validation of engineering solutions. Health, Safety, and Environment: Follow the organization's health, safety, and environment (HSE) policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate environmental risks and risks to the well-being of self and others in the workplace. Identify patterns of risky behavior within the team and take appropriate action to resolve them, escalating serious issues as appropriate. Technical Developments Recommendation: Research and suggest technical developments to improve the quality of the website/portal/software and supporting infrastructure to better meet users’ needs. Personal Capability Building: Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media. Waste Management: Lead waste projects or supervise area of the organization, ensuring adherence to regulations and effective reduction, segregation, and disposal of waste. Project Management: Work within an established project management plan to achieve specific goals. Client & Customer Management (External): Help senior colleagues manage client and customer relationships by using relevant sales or client systems. Experience  2-4+/- years of environmental experience Positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, team player and leader  Ability to present technical information in a concise and professional manner  Willingness to respond to call outs during non-routine working hours  Strong problem-solving abilities and skill  Experienced in emergency preparedness, air monitoring, environmental assessment/sampling, ICS, SCAT, PHMSA is a plus  Experience with railroad and pipeline related emergencies is a plus  Excellent organizational skills with ability to multi-task and prioritize to meet project timelines  Advanced computer skills in a Windows-based platform Education:  Keen interest for long term career growth and development within the GHD FIRST program.
