Overview The Baanquet Server will assist the Food and Beverage Manager and Banquet Captains in serving the guests during banquet functions to ensure a positive guest experience. This role will pay an hourly wage of $17 to $19. Benefits for PT roles: 401(k) savings plan and 401(k) matching. Also, OVG provides part-time, seasonal, and internship employees with one hour of accrued paid leave per 30 hours worked, up to 48 hours per year. Proudly managed by Oakview Group Management, the facility boasts 154,000 square feet of flexible space, accommodating a wide range of events from 10-3,000 attendees. An IAVM Venue Excellence Award Winner and one of St. Louis’ Top Workplaces, the venue is highly-rated by clients and staff. FACILITY FEATURES The Saint Charles Convention Center contains 1,200 free parking spaces, 21 meeting rooms and breakouts, two elegant ballrooms, and an expandable exhibit hall with carpet and drape options. In-house services include delicious food and beverage, experienced event planners, audio visual, decorating, onsite security, marketing and more. Responsibilities Prepare, refill and serve beverages and wine for customers. Set up of tables according to meal period and specified standards. Remove dishes and glasses from table and take them to the kitchen or breakdown station. Set up and break down buffet and break stations, as needed. Remove and replace table linens and service settings, as required. Clean and arrange work stations, chairs, and table pieces. Refill salt, pepper, sugar, cream, and condiment containers. Give menu descriptions to customers and answer questions regarding preparation. Relay special orders to the event manager, banquet captain chef or kitchen. Serve meals to customers or direct customers to buffets. Observe customers to find out if anything else is needed. Provide excellent customer service assistance to internal and external clients. Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age. Excellent Customer Service Skills High school diploma or equivalent GED. Equivalent experience may be substituted. Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, extended (long) work days and extended number of days.
