Wages range from $19.50 to $21.50 per hourMechanical Engineering Interns will work directly with a team of experienced engineers to assist in the design and rebuilding of lumber manufacturing equipment. SPI is seeking motivated individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in mechanical engineering and machine design.Duties include, but are not limited to:Assist full time engineers with drafting and seeing projects and sub assembly projects through the manufacturing process.Take on small projects that involve designing or rebuilding wood products equipment.Work and gain experience in a full on fabrication, machining, and tech shop.QualificationsCurrently in second or third year of engineering school, in or related to mechanical systems.Completed coursework in a 3D modeling class or competent in Solidworks.Possess strong multi-tasking and organizational skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Understanding of basic welding and machining procedures.Interested in machinery and mechanical systems.Base Location: Anderson, CaliforniaCompensation includes competitive hourly wage and housing allowance for qualifying individuals.Sierra Pacific is an (EOE) Equal Opportunity Employer, including those with a disability and veterans.About Our Company Sierra Pacific Industries is a fourth-generation family-owned company based in Northern California that started in 1949 and has grown to be one of the largest lumber and millwork producers in the U.S., employing around 6,500 crew members.
