SummaryWe are seeking a Research Area Specialist Senior who will lead knowledge translation efforts that make disability-related research accessible and actionable. This position will develop and implement knowledge translation strategies, transforming research into engaging, accessible formats for diverse audiences?including patients, families, clinicians, policymakers, and researchers. Responsibilities*Translate research into accessible formats using plain language principlesDevelop and adapt comprehensive knowledge translation strategies across CDHW projectsManage consultants supporting content creation and productionEnhance CDHW's brand and manage social media platformsSupport promotion of in-person and virtual eventsAlign departmental communications with PMR and Michigan Medicine strategiesRequired Qualifications*Bachelors degree in public health, health communications, or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted, including relevant undergraduate and graduate student work experienceExperience developing multi-format knowledge translation products (e.g., infographics, briefs, videos)Proven ability to manage consultants and collaborate across teamsStrong writing and editing skills for diverse platformsProficiency in social media strategy and trends Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environmentStrong interpersonal and customer service skills Senior level: 5+ years experience in patient education, implementation science, or communicationsIntermediate level: 4+ years experience in patient education, implementation science, or communicationsAssociate level: 1+ year experience in patient education, implementation science, or communicationsDesired Qualifications*Familiarity with disability justice and patient education practicesExperience with accessibility standards for diverse disabilitiesKnowledge of U-M brand standards and communications environmentExperience with AI tools for content developmentWeb strategy and content management (Drupal preferred)Background in academic, clinical, or research settingsPersonal or professional experience with disability advocacy Work LocationsBurlington Building, Ann Arbor, MIModes of WorkPositions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department.
