ResponsibilitiesThis position would perform field review of poles and other electric facilities, including a review of the jobs with the design team. Interaction with property owners may be necessary to explain project intentions.Core ResponsibilitiesEquipment to be used:Digital CameraMeasuring wheel and/or laser range finderSmart device, laptop, or mobile phoneAngle finderPerform field review of electric facilities capturing the required informationPole Identification Markings (height / class, birthmark)Centerline measurements, offsets, Mile Markers (for future permitting use)Attachment heightsDown guys and span guysSketch of site with measurements to nearby obstructionsNotation of existing equipmentObtain GPS locationPhotographsProperly file data in the system and provide daily status reports.Create folders and download photosScan notes and measurements, then save into foldersConduct safety briefing discussions identifying critical work steps, the potential hazards related to those work steps, and possible control barriers. QualificationsMinimum QualificationsAssociates degree preferred or 2 years’ experience with power distribution systems and/or telecommunications.Valid driver’s license required with a clean driving record for the past 5 years.Preferred QualificationsAuto CAD experienceHigh-level understanding of utility, telecommunications, and/or power design engineering preferred.Familiarity with electrical standards including National Electric Code (NEC) and National Electric Safety Code (NESC) preferred.Knowledge of Katapult or like equipment preferred.Physical Demands and Work EnvironmentThis position may require significant time standing or walking on uneven ground, possible climbing of ladders or being in high places, working in tight spaces, lifting up to 50 pounds, and, in general, being overall physically demanding.
