OPD's industry experience, flexibility, and personal attention have made us a preferred partner to our customers and our tight knit, highly productive, team atmosphere makes OPD a great place to work.What You Will DoSome core responsibilities for a Dirt Equipment Operator include:Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and proceduresEfficiently and safely operate heavy mobile equipment of various sizes and weights associated with open pit miningPerform minor service and maintenance on equipmentRecognize and document potential job hazards in compliance with company policiesWork as a team to help meet or exceed production, waste and quality goalsPerform general housekeeping duties to continuously maintain a safe and clean work environmentWork in a hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environmentWork any shift, holidays, weekends and overtime as neededPerform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and/or pulling for at least eight (8) hoursMaintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, to include safety equipmentWe expect all field employees to:Actively participate in a strong safety culture.Recognize safety hazards and risks.Participate in onsite safety meetings.Follow OPD and client safety policies and procedures.Be aware of changing conditions on an active jobsite.Be on time to the jobsite each day ready for work.Display a positive attitude and be able to work in a team environment.Some physical demands of being a Dirt Equipment Operator include:Capable of working in outdoor weather and environmental conditions including extreme heat and humidity, extreme cold, and high elevations.Lifting and carrying awkward objects up to 60 lbs.Standing for extended periods of time up to 12 hours per day. Moving the entire body. Considerable use of arms, legs, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, crawling, twisting, reaching, and bending on a regular basis.Must have good hand-eye coordination.Use hands to handle, control, and feel objects and/or tools.Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)Six (6) months or more of experience operating one or more of the following in the construction and/or mining field: -End dump truck - Caterpillar 770 class or larger, -Excavator- Caterpillar 325 class or larger, -Front-end loader Caterpillar 950 class or larger -Dozer- Caterpillar D8 class or large -Wirtgen Surface Miner 2200SMWilling and able to work in an industrial environment as described in the positionWilling and able to meet the physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodation Ability to adhere to the safety regulations of the positionWilling and able to work all shifts up to 12 hours per day and 7 days a week as required by the project What Will Put You AheadOne (1) year or more of experience working with construction and/or mining equipment experienceCurrently parts 48 MSHA TrainedOur BenefitsOur goal is for each employee, and their families, to live fulfilling and healthy lives.
