Job SummaryThe Music Teacher at a Catholic school is responsible for developing and leading a vibrant music program that supports the school’s academic goals and faith-based mission. This teacher inspires students to explore music through singing, instruments, rhythm, theory, and performance, while integrating Catholic traditions and liturgical music.Job ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities:Plan and deliver music instruction to students in various grade levels (PK–8, depending on school)Teach music theory, vocal and instrumental performance, rhythm, and appreciationPrepare students for school concerts, performances, and liturgical celebrationsDirect music for school Masses, prayer services, and other religious eventsFoster a classroom environment that encourages creativity, participation, and respectIncorporate Catholic hymns, seasonal liturgical music, and traditional sacred worksAssess student progress and provide constructive feedbackCollaborate with teachers and administration to support school-wide events and curriculumMaintain music supplies, instruments, and equipmentAttend staff meetings, professional development, and school events as requiredJob RequirementsQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or related fieldTeaching certification (if applicable or required by the diocese)Practicing Catholic who supports the mission and values of Catholic educationExperience teaching music to children in a school or church settingProficiency in vocal and/or instrumental instructionAbility to lead student choirs or ensemblesStrong organizational, communication, and classroom management skillsExperience the Difference.
