SummaryDavis School District Nutrition Services is hiring substitute cooks to work at various schools in the district.DescriptionDavis School District Nutrition Services is looking for positive, hard-working people to help us feed children The job consists of preparing meals, serving children, and cleaning up afterwards. They pay is $13.90 per hour. Our hiring system is quite simple: 1. Substitutes are hired and sent out to train. 2. Once trained, substitutes may have the option of accepting a permanent cook position (depending on available openings) or being put on the substitute cook list, to be called multiple times a week to substitute at various schools. Our substitute cooks receive $13.90 per hour. Permanent cooks receive $15.95 per hour. Shifts range from 3.0-3.9 hours, starting around 9:00am and ending around 1:30pm. Our cooks also get the same holidays off that the students get, including summer break. During your shift, Lunch is on us If this sounds like something you'd be interested in, please come to a face-to-face Orientation at 2:00 pm on Tuesday or Thursday at DSD Nutrition Services, Freeport West, Building G-4 in Clearfield. Job Qualifications: ** Must be able to lift a 40lb box of food. ** Must be able to be on your feet for four consecutive hours. ** Must have interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a team. ** Must be able to communicate with staff and students. ** Must be self-motivated and able to work independently once instruction has been given. ** Must be able to complete 28 hours of training in a school kitchen to a satisfactory level. **Have a basic understanding of food safety. **Must be able to acquire a food handler's permit before training begins. **Must be able to pass a background check.
