Job Description Wyman-Gordon Pennsylvania, a division of Precision Castparts Corporation (PCC), is a manufacturing leader of Flash Welded and Cold Rolled near net shaped rings for the Aerospace Industry. We are currently seeking a highly motivated, energetic Safety Specialist with multi-site responsibilities. Facilities included PCC Wyman Gordon (Mountaintop), and Tru-Form (Wilkes-Barre). The Safety Specialist will be responsible for communicating and implementing safety and environmental compliance programs to ensure a safe, health and compliant work environment for all facilities. Safety Specialist drives EHS solutions that ensures the Company is always striving for continuous improvement in regards to safety and accountability. The Safety Specialist will report into the EHS Director. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESSupports the PCC/Wyman Gordon (Company) EH&S program at the Mountaintop and Tru-Form facilities.Develops and implements EHS related programs and policies in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.Recommends, develops and implements improvements in policies, procedures and equipment to prevent incidents and injuries.Tracks and reports EHS corrective actions from incident investigations and external evaluations. Manages corrective actions being taken in impacted departments.Responsible for recordkeeping and reporting requirements under permitted environmental processes.Inspects facility processes to detect existing or potential environmental, safety and health hazards, determines corrective or preventive measures where indicated and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.Provides and directs EHS training and annual compliance auditing.Responsible for the 6S Program for the plants. Provides support to the plants’ culture of continuous improvement. Able to lead and participate in 6S workshops to firmly integrate EH&S thinking in all new standards and new procedures developed as a result of continuous improvement.Provides Sustainability Data collection/preparation.Assist with all environmental related legal matters, regulatory agency contacts, permitting, and enforcement actions.Coordinates all facility emergency response and site evacuation programs.Assists in the management and identification and correction of EHS aspects of industrial engineering projects, maintenance projects, and all other plant EHS risk reduction issues.Assists with Worker’s Compensation process and claims.Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the Corporation and the community; and maintains the professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.Provides 24-hour on-call response for medical and environmental emergencies.Other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATIONBachelor’s Degree with major/emphasis in Occupational Health and Safety or comparable field required.2 yrs. environment, health, and safety experience within a manufacturing environmentProfessional knowledge of federal/state standards (OSHA, EPA, DOT) for a manufacturing environment;Experience with regulatory filing and reportingExperience deploying and/or developing effective training programsThe Following skills are desirable:Demonstrated ability to research specific compliance and regulatory requirementsStrong project management skillsDemonstrates high concern for detail, accuracy and compliance to Company policies/proceduresAbility to work with cross functional groupsAbility to develop, train and implement programs for continuous improvementEnergetic, motivated individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to effectively interact with all levels of employees – production level to executiveSolid understanding of safety and environmental engineering principals with the ability to apply to the company’s operations.Relocation Assistance Available All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.
