RS Lead Inspector A&P in GAC Savannah Unique Skills: This position is for a Lead Inspector with coverage of Avionics Install teams, Interior Refurb/Modification, and avionics back shop opertions. The ideal candidtate will have high level of knowledge in STC installs, MRA projects, and aircraft certification projects. Must have strong skills with reading mechanical and electrical prints to include both 2D paper prints and 3D models. The lead inspector will train the team and maintain standardization for installation projects across multiple teams in multiple hangars. Conformity inspection, ODA, DAR-F, DIMR experience is a bonus but not required. This position also supports a non-certificated Fabrication Center that provides interior component fabrication for the Gulfstream Enterprise. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must be able to work from elevated postitions to include ladders, maintence stands, lifts, and conditions on top of an aircraft with a safety harness. Must be able to accasionally work in confined space. Education and Experience Requirements High School Diploma or GED required. 10 years aviation maintenance experience (avionics, electrical, and/or mechanical) to include 4 years of relevant Gulfstream aircraft experience and 4 years of aircraft inspection experience. A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant) license required. Position Purpose:Lead and coordinate the inspections of aircraft, aircraft components, and reviews paperwork to ensure that workmanship meets acceptable standards of quality, and that aircraft are returned to service in an airworthy condition with all required. documentation properly completed and filed. Works as an integral leader of the Quality Control/Assurance team assuring aircraft/components are in compliance to FAA/CAA requirements.Job Description Principle Duties and Responsibilities:Essential Functions: Responsible for Quality Control inspections on aircraft/components . Directs and coordinates inspections of aircraft, engine, and component repairs and alterations to ensure conformity to FAA approved/acceptable data . Coordinates mechanical, electrical and inspection requirements on the aircraft during maintenance or outfitting . Keeps accurate, neat and legible records of the work performed on aircraft/components . Coordinates throughout assigned jobs with RTS to ensure accurate aircraft records are produced in a timely manner . Conducts audits of maintenance documentation for accuracy and completion on all aircraft prior to approval for return to service . Ensures aircraft/components are airworthy prior to any flight activities . Mentors technicians on effective documentation .Additional Functions: Communicates with management as required. to identify work assignments and delivery schedules . Provides technical support to inspection personnel in supporting the FAA and/or CAA documented requirements .Perform other duties as assigned.Other Requirements: Strong computer skills. Expert Knowledge of inspection and maintenance procedures for various aircraft models and systems. Expert Knowledge of pertinent technical reference materials. Proficient in blueprint reading and interpretation, shop mathematics and QC Procedures. Expert knowledge and application of Quality Assurance and/or Quality Control systems and methodologies. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
