Quality Manager will check the quality of incoming and outgoing material and products as well as review production procedures. You will be a firm advocate of quality in our business. The ideal candidate will possess a trained eye for detail and will be reliable and committed. In depth knowledge and comprehension of quality standards and ability to read and use precision measuring tools are essential.What We DoSMS group is the leading partner in the world of metals. We are an original equipment supplier offering comprehensive maintenance and spare part services for metals production, continuous casting and rolling (flat and long products), tubes, welded pipes, forging, non-ferrous technology, and heat treatment plants - all from a single source. What you'll doAssist in developing and standardizing methods by which performance metrics are established and reported.Oversee ISO compliance and certification.Oversee NCR and IAP programs/systems.Conduct internal audits.Train in-plant Quality personnelControl/update work instructions, routers, travelers and inspection documentsParticipate in ISO registration/surveillance audits.Ensure corrective actions are properly generated and completed in a timely manner.Work with all facilities to ensure all action items from audits, observations, complaints, etc. are effectively followed through.Inspects and approves incoming/outgoing materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.Maintains calibration of gauges.What you'll needPrior experience in an industrial/manufacturing/machining environment preferred but not required. Experience with measuring devices such as meters, gauges, calipers, and other measuring instruments5S/Lean manufacturing experience preferred, not required. Four-year college degree, or two to four years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to work independently and in team environments. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the public. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or government regulations. Ability to read blueprints and understand product specifications and requirements.Strong organizational, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Computer Skills: Microsoft Office Suite, Ability to learn ERP system, Spreadsheet and Word Processing Software, Adobe Acrobat Professional, MS Access, Outlook, PowerPointWhat We Offer  Health/Dental/Vision Packages to fit your needs – Effective after 30 Days Life insurance coverage equal to 1.5 x annual compensation at no cost to employee. Pro-Rated Vacation after 30 Days & Paid Holiday Time after 30 Days 401K Contributions after 30 Days/SMS Match after 6 Months/100% Vested after 30 Days Flexible Spending Accounts/Health Saving Accounts Available College Savings Program & Tuition Reimbursement Program SMS provides employees with all PPE and Tools Great Employee Discounts (Hotels, Flights, Rental Cars, Theme Parks)  SMS group Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
