For nearly a century, we've delivered critical infrastructure projects for clients like NJDOT, NJ Turnpike Authority, PennDOT and the Port Authority of NY & NJ.We are currently seeking a Civil Engineer Intern to join our team and gain hands-on experience in the field of heavy civil construction.Position Overview:The Civil Engineer Intern will work closely with our project managers, field engineers, and superintendents to support ongoing construction projects. This internship is ideal for students or recent graduates pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field who are interested in careers in transportation infrastructure.Responsibilities:Assist with daily project coordination, reporting, and documentationReview and interpret project drawings, specifications, and submittalsSupport field staff with construction layout, quantity takeoffs, and materials trackingAttend job site meetings and observe construction activitiesHelp prepare RFIs, submittals, and change order documentationLearn about project scheduling, safety procedures, and quality controlPerform other duties as assigned to support the project teamQualifications:Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related fieldStrong interest in heavy civil / transportation constructionExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)Familiarity with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or construction management software is a plusAbility to work on active construction sites and travel to project locations within New JerseyStrong work ethic, reliability, and eagerness to learnWhat We Offer:Real-world experience on active infrastructure projectsMentorship from experienced project managers and engineersExposure to NJDOT, NJ Turnpike, and public works construction processesOpportunity to build relationships and gain insight into a career in heavy civil constructionCompetitive hourly wagePotential for full-time opportunities upon graduationHow to Apply:Submit your resume and a brief cover letter outlining your interest in the internship.IEW Construction Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
