Description Founded in 1935, the not-for-profit Columbus Regional Healthcare System (CRHS) started as a 12-bed hospital in a Victorian home in Whiteville. Today, the modern 154-bed facility of CRHS is known for its skilled and dedicated medical providers, who represent a range of specialties.General, peds, vascular, robotic, urologic, orthopedic, OB and gynecologic surgeryRoutinely three Anesthesiologists are present each day. Early out next day for the Physician who has been on call. Call averages every third night and every third weekend. Call from home, no nighttime labor epidurals and very low utilization.TeamWilliam Obrecht, MDOur group consists of four anesthesiologists and eight CRNAs who work together in a care team model.Our care team model means that we focus on giving everyone a voice, while supporting, respecting, and helping them to deliver care excellence.RequirementsAssist in the directing and coordinating of activities in the Anesthesia DepartmentResponsible for the medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical proceduresPre-anesthesia assessmentObtains and/or verifies patient consentDiscuss anesthetic options and risks with the patientInduction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesiaMonitoring of the patient's physiological conditionPerformance of clinical intervention as neededM.D./D.O. Degree from an accredited College of MedicineECFMG and FLEXCompletion of approved residency in anesthesiaCurrently licensed as a physicianLifestyleWhiteville, NC:The small community of Whiteville features a warm climate, a family-oriented lifestyle, and southern-style hospitality.
