Senior Cloud Solution Architect

Description SummaryTencent Cloud is seeking a customer facing Senior Cloud Solution Architect with extensive project consulting/implementation experience on at least one of the major public cloud platforms, plus full stack design and delivery skills. This senior SA role will work with the sales team closely to provide full lifecycle support for our customers, which could include understanding the customers’ business use cases, collecting the technical requirements, providing technical architecture recommendations based on Tencent Cloud/industry best practice, assisting implementation and deployment in customers QA and/or production environments, as well as issue trouble-shooting when necessary.Having worked extensively as a solutions consultant, the right candidate will excel at working with customers to. They will collaboratively define prioritized implementation plans, ensure that the customer's own engineering and business teams consider all key cloud related critical path actions (such as access controls, private/public network separation, and data replication/recovery zones, etc.), and define the necessary functional test and integration requirements,. They will have led the successful delivery completion of multiple multi availability zone, cross region, PaaS based implementations, and in the delivery of handover documentation to stakeholder groups throughout each project stage.Based in Palo Alto, CA, this person will work closely with the local sales, solutions, and technical teams, to service the global project pipeline. At the same time, they will also proactively define industry level solutions, combining Tencent and third party products, to enable wider service adoption.Become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the Tencent Cloud Services PlatformRemove Sales obstacles by providing internal consulting, training, and knowledge supportPartner with Sales to build long-term account relationships, that deliver ongoing business valueDevelop Tencent Cloud-based demonstrations and solutions that successfully meet customer requirementsCollaborate with internal Product and Engineering teams to diagnose and resolve problem casesContribute to solution design, technical documentation, and complete awareness within the Solutions TeamWho We Look ForFluency in English and Chinese, both speaking and writingBachelor's degree (or higher), with exposure to computer science, math, engineering, or equivalent practical experience5+ years’ experience in a Solutions Engineering or Pre/Post-Sales role, or demonstrated success in a related fieldExperience with physical and virtualized infrastructure, operating systems, and software configurationExperience with CDN/web caching, large file download, HTTP headers, and HTTP debugging toolsExposure to DNS, load balancing, HTTP web applications, mobile apps, and live streaming (audio/video)Experience in A/B testing, HTTP application and network performance analysis, and technical report writingAwareness of cloud compute cost models, network topology, platform services, and common storage optionAwareness of Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and other cloud providersOverall technical savvy with demonstrated ability in work in a small team setting, owning complex technical projects with international scopeExperience managing and collaborating on long-term implementation projects, with documented resultsLateral and logical troubleshooting, follow-through and problem-solving skills, resourcefulness, attention to detail, and communication skillsLocation State(s)US-California-Palo AltoThe expected base pay range for this position in the location(s) listed above is $ to $ per year. Actual pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Employees hired for this position may be eligible for a sign on payment, relocation package, and restricted stock units, which will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Subject to the terms and conditions of the plans in effect, hired applicants are also eligible for medical, dental, vision, life and disability benefits, and participation in the Company’s 401(k) plan. The Employee is also eligible for up to 15 to 25 days of vacation per year (depending on the employee’s tenure), up to 13 days of holidays throughout the calendar year, and up to 10 days of paid sick leave per year.
