Job DescriptionThe AIC Engineer III is responsible for overseeing the discipline and managing the discipline budget on small to medium projects of limited complexity. The Engineer III coordinates with internal and external engineers as well as client, construction manager, subcontractor and vendor interfaces. The Engineer possesses the demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex tasks, establish priorities and direct the work of others. The Engineer may work independently or at the direction of the Lead Engineer or Project Manager. This role will have the ability to successfully execute and lead (on moderate complexity projects) all phases of design including initial programming, planning, feasibility, scope and concept development, detailed design, construction documentation and construction administration, or hold primary responsibility for one or more automation systems on a large project. ResponsibilitiesInterfaces with clients and external partners.Plans and directs work and manages a project budget from a discipline design perspective on small projects of limited complexity.Supports proposal development under the supervision of a Lead or Senior Engineer.Identifies basic non-compliant existing conditions during site walks and construction field surveys.Develops basic internal discipline design and engineering training presentations.Develops construction drawing packages and writes construction specifications on intermediate projects of limited complexity and with little oversight.Leads discipline specific quality check for small projects of intermediate complexity and drives overall project quality.Provides mentorship to discipline Engineer I and/or Designer I and II.Leads intermediate project system design programming and master planning with support from Lead or Senior Engineer. QualificationsMinimum QualificationsABET-accredited Bachelor’s degree in discipline-specific field of study (ChemE, ME or EE)Minimum of 5 years of experience, preferably in a design firm setting  Additional QualificationsExperience with BluebeamProficiency in AutoCAD and RevitProficiency in Microsoft OfficeFundamentals of Engineering exam registration or completionIntermediate knowledge of cGMP manufacturing environmentsIntermediate experience with performing instrumentation and controls engineering calculations and developing and implementing instrumentation and control system design deliverables with limited supervision from Lead or Senior Engineer.Network ArchitecturesInstrument Location DrawingsInstrument Index, IO List and DatasheetsSpecifications DevelopmentConstruction SpecificationsHardware/Software SpecificationsFunctional Specifications (Process Description / Sequence of Controls)Intermediate experience with implementing fundamental design aspects of control system schematics, panel fabrication drawings and field wiring plans designIntermediate experience developing Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)Intermediate experience and knowledge of industrial control systemsSystems: DCS, SCADA, PLC, BAS/BMS, EMS/CMS, etc.Manufacturers: DeltaV, Rockwell, Ignition, Siemens, Johnson Controls, Schneider, etc.Communication protocols: Ethernet-IP, BACnet, IO-Link, etc.Intermediate experience with the electrical codeIntermediate experience with other applicable industry standards21 CFR Part 11 (Electronic Records; Electronic Signatures)ISPE GAMP (Good Automated Manufacturing Practice)ASME BPE (Bioprocessing Equipment Standard)ISA-88 / ISA-95 / ISA-106Intermediate experience with applicable mechanical and building codesBasic experience and knowledge of designing Safety Instrumented SystemsBasic experience and knowledge of Electrical Classified DesignProficient with intermediate internal and external cross-discipline project team coordinationProficient with intermediate coordination with construction trade partners, vendors and manufacturersAdditional InformationAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.CRB is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
