Process Improvement Engineer

Role description:
The Process Improvement Engineer supports a rapid and continuous improvement culture by becoming a process expert, identifying improvement opportunities, analyzing data, and helping to drive data-based decision-making. This role's primary responsibility is to improve plant performance.
Responsibilities:
Identify and pursue improvement opportunities both individually and as part of teams
Develop expertise in multiple plant processes
Help identify opportunities for improvement to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Become the plant specialist regarding all relevant data sources and analyses
Help implement a culture of continuous improvement in the plant
Comply with environmental and food safety standards as set forth in plant policies and programs within the departmental responsibilities
Minimum skills/qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field
Working knowledge of various improvement methods and tools
Self-motivated and passionate about process improvement
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Prior experience with analytical software (i.e. JMP or Minitab)
Preferred skills/qualifications:
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification
Prior experience working with group applications such as SAP and Business Warehouse
