The Texas A&M Engineering Academies, in partnership with two-year institutions, is the first engineering transition program of its kind in the United States. The Engineering Academies offer students interested in pursuing an engineering, engineering technology, or computer science degree at Texas A&M University the opportunity to begin co-enrolled at a partner two-year institution and Texas A&M University – College Station. These talented students will be enrolled in Texas A&M engineering courses, taught by Texas A&M faculty, while simultaneously taking their science, mathematics, and core curriculum courses at the two-year college. This position is for the Engineering Academies located at Midland College in Midland, TX. Texas A&M University is located in the twin cities of Bryan and College Station, TX, with a population of more than 273,000, and is conveniently located in a triangle formed by Dallas, Houston and Austin. Texas A&M has more than 74,829 graduate and undergraduate students enrolled. Research expenditures at Texas A&M total more than $922 million annually, ranking in the top tier of universities nationwide. With an endowment valued at more than $11.5 billion, the university ranks third among U.S. public universities and eighth overall. The college is also ranked 1st in research expenditures by the American Society for Engineering Education.For appointments at (visiting) Professor of the Practice level, applicants must have, at the minimum, a master's level degree appropriate for the field (closely related engineering or science discipline) in which the faculty member will teach and significant teaching experience at the college/school level in the field or in a related field, or have an extraordinary record of accomplishment in an applied setting. A minimum of 18 years experience as a practicing engineer is required. There may be additional requirements depending on the specific faculty title.  For appointments at (visiting) Instructional Professor level, applicants must have a doctoral degree in a closely related engineering or science discipline. Experience as a practicing engineer is required. There may be additional requirements depending on the specific faculty title.
