For more detailed information, please . Job Responsibilities: Process human tissue and body fluid specimens in preparation for microscopic examPerform technical duties related to the production of histopathological slides of surgical specimensSection the embedded tissue, using a microtome and mount the section properly on a microscope slidePerform various immunohistochemical tests on formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue sectionsProcess mounted sections through routine and special staining proceduresProperly orient and embed surgical tissue specimensPrepare the stains and reagents needed for special proceduresReport accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care Operate and maintain manual and automated instrumentsPerform and document equipment maintenance as neededRecord equipment log data in an accurate and timely mannerPerform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures Adhere to the laboratory's quality control policiesFollow the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, analysis and reportingDocument problems that may affect test performance and perform corrective actions as neededRequirements: Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or a non-traditional Bachelor’s degree that meets local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirementsMust have at least 5 years of experience cutting small tissue as a histotech HT/HTL certification preferred IHC and special staining knowledge, cutting molecular study cases experience preferredFamiliarity with routine histology procedures and equipmentComfortability embedding both large and small specimens Ability to accurately read all labels and documentsHighly organized with a strong attention to detailExperience working in a high volume laboratory environment is desirable Familiarity with laboratory SOPs and safety protocolsMust be able to pass a standardized color vision screenLabcorp is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer:Labcorp strives for inclusion and belonging in the workforce and does not tolerate harassment or discrimination of any kind.
