Sr Paralegal

Provide assistance to the legal staff through the exercise of professional skill and expertise.Essential FunctionsPerform legal and factual research, prepare analyses, summaries, and review research of others prior to attorney reviewDraft legal documents and correspondence for review and approval by attorneysProvide timely responses and documents to requesting departments and outside agencies and assist outside counsel as requestedPrepare legal documents, including pleadings and discovery-related documents; accepts and deliver documents on behalf of the company when presence of an attorney is not required, or with an attorney when appropriateAssist in planning, organizing, administering, and tracking programs and projects handled in legal departmentDevelop and conduct training programs for mangers and company personnel regarding legal issuesWork with all departments in the corporation to ensure timely handling and completion of company’s legal activitiesProcess and review various legal documents and maintain activity log to assure prompt action by the appropriate corporate departmentPrepare articles pertaining to Legal Department’s activities for publication in company’s internal communicationRespond to requests for information and advice.Perform other duties as assigned.Minimum EducationBachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.Paralegal certification or 2 years paralegal experience (in addition to experience required below).Minimum ExperienceFive (5) years paralegal experience.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesAdvanced knowledge of Legal process and systems.Advanced research, organization, human relations, communications and computer skills.Excellent research and writing skills.Experience and ability to use Microsoft Office Software, including but not limited to; Word, Excel, and Outlook.Job ConditionsHours may vary due to organizational need.Some travel required.Preferred Qualifications: Litigation Paralegal supports trial attorneys engaged in all aspects of complex litigation, including: document management, drafting and filing responsive pleadings, engaging in discovery and law and motion practice, trial and appellate practice.
