The Opportunity We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Whitehall that are seeking skilled Design Engineers. By joining our network, you position yourself for opportunities aligned with your career goals. Key Responsibilities Design and develop new products, components, and assemblies using CAD software. Create detailed 3D models and 2D engineering drawings, ensuring adherence to industry standards and specifications. Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles to optimize designs for production efficiency. Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes based on performance requirements, cost, and scalability. Support prototyping, testing, and validation of new designs, incorporating feedback for iterative improvements. Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure successful product launch. Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including BOMs, specifications, and engineering change orders. Recommended Qualifications Strong proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA) for 3D modeling and 2D drafting. Solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles, material science, and common manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, injection molding, sheet metal). Demonstrated experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles. Proven analytical and problem-solving skills for developing robust and efficient design solutions. Experience in prototyping, testing, and validation of mechanical designs. Bonus Qualifications Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies. Demonstrated hands-on experience with prototyping, fabrication, or machining. Proficiency with advanced simulation software (e.g., FEA, CFD). Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. Certification in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
