Description Predictant is an innovative start up focused on using AI to accurately measure tension in large industrial bolts (currently focused on the Wind Turbine industry). Using our patent pending hardware coupled with advanced AI models, Predictant reduces the maintenance and inspection time on large structures by up to 90% vs. traditional methods. Predictant has recently obtained critical Wind Energy certifications and is now demonstrating the technology to a select list of industry leading OEMs and maintenance companies while preparing for strong growth next year. Predictant is part of the Invica Group, a London based company that maintains a worldwide portfolio of companies focused on sustainability.The Technician I, Engineering Research position is a critical role at Predictant that is focused on signal data collection across numerous bolts under several conditions. A focus on safety and data integrity are the paramount concerns for this position and all warehouse team members. This role reports to the Technical Operations Manager who manages and oversees the warehouse lab and Bolt Data Collection Team staff. Applicants should expect a fast-paced, hard-working environment and the rewards of working with a small and growing company.The Technician 1, Engineering Research position conducts laboratory tests on steel structural bolts and minor equipment maintenance for the research and innovation team. The Technician I, Engineering Research role will work almost exclusively in the lab (some office time required). This person is required to utilize a variety of tools and equipment to accomplish their job. Experience with data entry, repetitive tasks requiring attention to detail, electronics and hydraulic equipment experience are useful for this role. Proficient soldering skills and small electronics repair is highly desired, but not necessary. Requirements Essential Functions· Support of laboratory testing and collection of data.· Work with a focus on safety and attention to detail in data acquisition.· Will need to be able to organize large amounts of data being captured without getting details confused.· Ability to care for high-value laboratory equipment and ensure proper operation.· Ability to keep work environment organized and clean to eliminate safety concerns.· Ability to operate hydraulic equipment (training will be provided).· Ability to operate ultrasonic transducers (training will be provided).· Ability to evaluate ultrasonic waveform quality (training will be provided).· Possible local field data collection for certain projects.· Individual Contributor: Action oriented and works well with challenges; Drives self and others for results; Possesses functional and technical knowledge and skills. · Additional duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.Qualifications· High School Diploma or equivalent required· Preferred science and engineering lab experience· Able to lift 50-75 lbs. regularly.· Enjoys hands-on laboratory working environment.· Able to stand for extended periods of time.· Able to take direction well and follow experiment plans and procedures.· Able to maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.· Able to maintain a neat, organized workspace in the laboratory.· Able and willing to operate potentially hazardous equipment.· Experience in Microsoft Office and Outlook is a plus.· Experience in operating hydraulic equipment is a plus.· Experience with ultrasonic transducers is a plus.· Experience with soldering and basic electronics maintenance is a plus.
