JOB DESCRIPTION:Will perform daily tasks while guiding/mentoring the crating team. Daily Tasks include:-Fabricate wooden crates or boxes, using woodworking hand tools and powered tools, and packs such items as machinery, , or other large or odd-shaped products. -Read blueprints, shipping notices, and other specifications, and inspect product to determine size and shape of container, materials to be used, and types of supports and braces to be used.-Lay out dimensions on materials with ruler, measuring tape, and pencil.-Saw materials to size, using handsaws and powered saws.-Assemble materials, using nailing or stapling machine, screws, bolts, glue, and hand tools.-Place product in container, manually or using hoist.-Bolt heavy pieces to bottom of container or skid.-Wrap and pad product with excelsior, paper or other packing material.-Build crate around large or odd-shaped articles.-Nail cover on crate.-Wrap and tighten metal bands around crate, using banding equipment.-Attach identification labels or stencils containing such information as shipping destination, weight, and type of product contained on crate.-Repair broken crates.-May count items to be packed to ensure compliance with shipping orders.-May weigh loaded crate.-May move container to shipping area, and move lumber, paper, and other wrapping supplies to crating area, using hand or industrial truck.QUALIFICATIONS:-Must be able to read tape measure-Experience with electrical saws (Panel saw, Jigsaw, & Miter saw)-Experience with Pneumatic nail and staple guns-Fork lift experience-Overhead crane experience-Able to lift over 50 LBS-Good teamwork-1 year experience in a leadership/supervisor role*Good position for skilled carpenters/ cabinet makers/framersPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:-Must be able to go up and down stairs. -Must be able to communicate effectively. -Must be able to operate a Computer, telephone and other office equipment. -Must not present a risk of injury to self or others while engaged in company duties. -Must be able to work overtime as required.Working at Zeeco means being part of a people-centric culture and environment built on mutual respect, personal encouragement, professional integrity, and limitless opportunity.
