Description Position OverviewThe Inventory Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily inventory activities within the distribution center, ensuring inventory accuracy, compliance with customer requirements, and alignment with company policies. This role supervises analysts and clerks to conduct cycle counts, reconcile discrepancies, and manage non-conforming product processes. The Supervisor partners closely with warehouse operations, customer service, and quality teams to ensure accurate reporting, effective problem resolution, and continuous improvement in inventory control.Essential Job Duties & ResponsibilitiesInventory Management & AccuracySupervise inventory control processes, including cycle counting, stock reconciliation, and discrepancy resolution.Ensure alignment between physical inventory, warehouse management systems (WMS), and customer systems.Manage control processes for non-conforming products and quality holds.Oversee inbound and outbound product verifications to minimize discrepancies.Support preparation for customer and regulatory audits.Data Analysis & ReportingMonitor and analyze inventory performance metrics to identify trends and root causes.Develop and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly inventory accuracy reports.Recommend corrective actions based on inventory analysis and follow up to ensure effectiveness.Support customer reporting requirements with accurate, timely data.Leadership & Team DevelopmentSupervise, coach, and develop Inventory Control Analysts and Clerks.Provide training, guidance, and feedback to ensure team compliance with policies and standards.Conduct performance reviews and support career development plans.Build a team culture focused on accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.Cross-Functional CollaborationPartner with Customer Service to research and resolve OS&D (overages, shortages, and damages).Work with warehouse operations to implement and maintain effective inventory controls.Collaborate with Quality Assurance to support audits and product integrity requirements.Communicate effectively with customers regarding inventory-related concerns and resolutions.Continuous Improvement & SafetyIdentify process improvements that enhance accuracy and reduce costs.Participate in Lean or Six Sigma projects related to inventory optimization.Promote and enforce safe work practices, ensuring team participation in site safety programs.Perform other related job duties as assigned or requiredRequired QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field is preferred or equivalent relevant experience.Minimum 3 years of inventory control or logistics experience.1+ years of supervisory or team lead experience.Experience using WMS, SAP, or similar inventory systems.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access) and data visualization tools.Effective written and verbal communication skills, with ability to interact with multiple stakeholders.Preferred QualificationsExperience in a high-volume distribution center or 3PL environment.Knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma practices.Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred – both written and verbal.Physical Requirements This is largely a sedentary role requiring the physical ability to:Sit for prolonged periods of time at a desk while working on a computerUse hands and fingers to operate a keyboard, mouse, and telephoneSpeak and hear clearly in person, virtually, and over the phoneOccasionally stand, walk, reach, stoop, or lift up to 10 poundsWork Environment This position operates in a hybrid environment, with responsibilities carried out in both a warehouse setting and an office environment. In the warehouse, the employee is exposed to: Varying temperatures, including but not limited to refrigerated or non-climate-controlled areasLoud noise levels, such as machinery, forklifts, and conveyor systemsDust, odors, and airborne particlesConcrete flooring and moving mechanical equipmentFrequent exposure to powered industrial vehicles and warehouse trafficThe employee is required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, and high-visibility vests.In the office environment, the employee will use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and printers. The noise level in the office is typically quiet to moderate, and the area is climate-controlled.Location/Remote EligibilityThe role may be performed on-site only.This position requires occasional travel across the United States and may include up to 30% travel.ScheduleFlexible hours may be required to support deadlines or cross-functional collaboration
