Job SummaryThe primary objective is to manage the sales territory and promote our specifiable and traditional piping products while meeting or exceeding our growth goals. The position requires the individual to develop and execute sales strategies, network with our customers including distributor partners, contractors, engineers and end-users while developing long-term, trusting relationships.ResponsibilitiesBe a champion for IPEX productsPlan and allocate time and resources to ensure sales objectives will meet the goals outlined in the company business planInteracts with internal departments, such as Customer Service, Operations and Marketing regarding pricing, delivery, training, product manufacturing and availability. Ensures that accurate information is effectively disseminated, and that cooperation is maintained between departmentsDevelops and maintains strong working relationships with wholesalers. Establishes conditions of sale and regional product selling pricesProvides formal and informal technical education and on-site training to Consulting Engineers, Municipal Engineers, Contractors and Distributors regarding IPEX’s productsRegularly visit customers within the assigned territory for the purpose of promoting products, providing technical services and building relationshipsRegularly travel to visit customer locations, both by car and air travel. Be prepared to arrange your travel plans (hotel bookings, airfare etc) and organize visits and other duties outlined below in coordination with our customers and as outlined by the US Sales ManagerUtilize CRM software to manage customer interactions and ensure the system is consistently updated for accurate and timely reportingWithin the assigned territory, have a constant eye on order patterns, current backlog, service levels and products purchasedRequirementsUndergraduate degree in Engineering is an asset; Mechanical, Civil or Chemical Engineering, and Business Administration/Marketing5–7 years’ experience in sales and sales management; industrial and plumbing industry experience are preferredStrong technical, analytical, negotiating and communication skills are requiredEffective presentation skills involve creating well-structured, visually appealing content and delivering it confidently while engaging an audienceProficiency in MS Office, including Excel and PowerPointFamiliarity with CRM softwareCompetenciesBe Customer Obsessed – Developing a deep understanding of customers (internal and external) and demonstrating a commitment to exceeding their expectationsCollaborate & Influence – Building and maintaining effective working relationships, ensuring alignment within and across groups, and using one’s understanding of others to gain buy-in and support and achieve shared goalsKey RelationshipsFrequent communication with both internal and external customersWork ConditionsNearly always work indoors in corporate office environment with long periods of sittingEmployee may experience progressive degrees of changing factors in the work process (changing work priorities, deadlines, accuracy, quotas, conflicting demands)Employee may be exposed to a minimal level of hazards in the work environment, such as chemicals, commercial products, exposure to potential toxins, moving machinery, repetitive motion, excessive noise, powered industrial vehicle fork/reach/ bucket lift/otherMay on occasion be exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levelsTravelRequired travel up to 80-100 nights per year IPEX is committed to providing accommodations for people with disabilities throughout the recruitment process and, upon request, will work with qualified job applicants to provide suitable accommodation in a manner that takes into account the applicant’s accessibility needs due to disability.
