Overnight Security OfficerUnarmed Security Officer – Union Office Building Complex Location: Downers GrovePosition Type: Full-Time (Union Position)Shifts: Monday thru Friday 10PM - 6AMPay Rate: $18.50 per hour Position OverviewWe are seeking reliable, professional, and observant Unarmed Security Officers to provide outstanding security and customer service at a union office building complex in the Chicago suburban area. This position combines front desk concierge duties, building access control, and foot patrol responsibilities to maintain a safe, secure, and professional environment for tenants, employees, and guests.As the first point of contact for many visitors, you will represent both the security team and the client organization — requiring a polished demeanor, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to safety.Primary ResponsibilitiesConcierge & Front Desk DutiesServe as the first point of contact for visitors, employees, and vendors.Maintain visitor logs and issue building access credentials as required.Handle deliveries, contractors, and guest inquiries in a courteous and professional manner.Communicate effectively with property management and tenant representatives.Security & Patrol DutiesConduct regular interior and exterior foot patrols of the complex to monitor for safety and security concerns.Observe and report any suspicious activity, safety hazards, or maintenance issues.Monitor and respond to alarms, access control alerts, and CCTV system activity.Enforce site policies and procedures in accordance with post orders.Prepare clear, detailed, and timely daily activity reports and incident reports.Assist in emergency situations, including evacuations, medical incidents, or facility lockdowns.Team & Professional StandardsMaintain a professional appearance and demeanor in accordance with company and client standards.Interact respectfully with tenants, employees, and members of the public.Follow all post orders, company policies, and safety protocols.Participate in ongoing training and development as required by the company or union contract.QualificationsMust possess a valid Illinois PERC (Permanent Employee Registration Card).Must have completed the 20-hour Illinois Unarmed Security Training Certificate.Minimum 1 year of prior security, concierge, or customer service experience preferred.Must pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.Strong communication, observation, and documentation skills required.Ability to handle routine and emergency situations calmly and effectively.Reliable transportation and punctuality required.BenefitsUnion position with competitive wages and benefits (health, dental, vision, paid time off).Supportive team environment with strong client and management support.IL #122-001049
