Key Responsibilities / DutiesSweep, mop, scrub, wax, buff, and maintain all flooring Vacuum carpets, rugs, mats, and entrance areasClean, sanitize, and restock restrooms, locker rooms, break rooms, lunchrooms, and common areasEmpty, clean, and line trash, recycling, and waste receptaclesRemove and clean spills, debris, and hazards in corridors, stairwells, and work areasClean glass surfaces, windows, doors, walls, partitions, and ledgesDust, wipe down, and clean furniture, fixtures, light covers, vents, and ledgesMaintain custodial closets: stock supplies, organize tools, keep equipment in good conditionReport maintenance or repair needs (. broken plumbing, lighting, HVAC issues, structural damage)Complete required cleaning checklists or logs, documenting work performedParticipate in emergency cleanup (. spills, leaks) when neededFollow safety, environmental, and chemical handling protocols (. MSDS, PPE)Use and maintain cleaning equipment and tools (buffers, floor machines, vacuums, Cooperate with other shifts, maintenance, and production teams to coordinate tasksOther duties as assigned by supervisorQualificationsRequired:High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)Ability to read, write, and follow instructions, checklists, and safety proceduresBasic math, communication, and listening skillsDependability, good attendance, and ability to work overnight hours independentlyPhysical ability to lift up to 50 lbs (or more with assistance), bend, stoop, kneel, push/pull, reach, and stand for long periodsAbility to use cleaning tools, equipment (buffers, vacuums, floor scrubbers)Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, disinfectants, and safety practicesAbility to work safely and follow company safety rulesPreferred / Desirable:Previous custodial, janitorial, or industrial cleaning experienceExperience working in a manufacturing, plant, or industrial facilityAbility to work cooperatively in a team settingWillingness to cross-train in related tasksFamiliarity with industrial facility layout, safety zones, and clean zonesWorking ConditionsOvernight / third shift workExposure to cleaning chemicals, solvents, dust, fumes, and moderate noiseWork indoors in areas with varying temperaturesUse of chemical PPE (gloves, goggles, masks)Frequent walking, bending, lifting, reachingOccasional overtime work requiredPerformance CriteriaTimely completion of nightly cleaning tasks in assigned zonesMeeting quality, safety, and cleanliness standardsAdherence to cleaning checklists and logsMinimal rework or complaints from day-shift staffSafe work practices (no lost-time accidents, proper chemical handling)Proper care of cleaning equipment and supplies
