Join usAbout the Group:Our group is focused on building and supporting DevOps pipelines for Enterprise Payments systems.About the Role:The AWS Architect interfaces with customers and identifies their needs and then works with various departments from network engineers, support and operations, to ensure a plan is in motion to improve the customer's experience. The Architect works to balance various aspects of the project, from safety to design. Additionally, the Architect researches advanced technology regarding best practices in the field and seek to find cost-effective solutions.This job is responsible for defining an architectural vision and solution aligned to the enterprise architecture strategy, technology, and platform choices. Key responsibilities include describing the solution intent/associated operating environment, evaluating system impacts, determining the primary systems/sub-systems and their interfaces, and assisting with end-to-end solution design. Job expectations include defining non-functional requirements/architectural runway to support new epics/features and ensuring solutions are fit for purpose by working with stakeholders and service providers.Responsibilities:Work closely with Information Technology professionals within the company to ensure hardware is available for projects and working properlyProvide detailed specifications for proposed solutions including time and scope involvedAssist other department engineers in creating practical demonstrations of proposed solutions and demonstrating them to other members of the teamEstablish a framework for necessary contributions from various departments and facilitate their collaborationAnalyze current technologies used within the company and develop steps and processes to improveDocument and monitor requirements needed to institute proposed updates in relation to customer experienceWork alongside project management teams to successfully monitor progress and implementation of initiativesConsults with the business and operations to identify and understand challenges and opportunities to improve the use and effectiveness of technology, find creative solutions through knowledge of the domain, practical experiments, and Proof of Concepts, and aligns the solution intent and architectural vision to an evolving backlog of technology changeWorks with product management and other stakeholders to plan and prioritize technology focused backlog items for the architecture runway to enable business epics/featuresPerforms design and code reviews to ensure all non-functional requirements for a solution are sufficiently met (for example, security, performance, maintainability, scalability, usability, and reliability)Leads rapid shaping of a high level architecture with details filled in with emerging business requirements and ensures architecture is flexible, modular, and designed to adapt easilyEducates team members on the technology practices, standardization strategies, and best practices to create innovative solutionsClarifies the architecture and assists with system design for the development teams to support implementation and provides solution options to resolve any architectural impedimentsUtilizes the defined best practices, templates, and documentation to create architectural designs and suggests improvements to best practices and templatesPrimary Skill:Amazon Web Services (AWS)Secondary Skill:TerraformRequired Qualifications:Degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Communication, Information Technology or equivalent work experience3+ years of experience in cloud engineering or a similar roleStrong understanding of AWS Well-Architected FrameworkExperience with core AWS services: EC2, VPC, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, LambdaProficiency with Terraform and infrastructure as code (IaC) principles.Knowledge of networking concepts (VPNs, VPCs, subnets, routing)Experience with infrastructure as code toolsUnderstanding of security best practices in cloud environmentsExperience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practicesStrong problem-solving and communication skillsExperience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and container services (ECS, EKS)Desired Qualifications: Experience With:JAVA Full Stack Development on UNIX & WindowsAutomation on Windows automation (Power Shell, Bladelogic, etc.)DEVOPS (Environment Management & Application Releases on Windows)App middleware Architecture (IIS/.NET) on JavaNetwork architectureHardware architecture Skills:Analytical ThinkingArchitectureResult OrientationSolution DesignTechnical Strategy DevelopmentApplication DevelopmentCollaborationData ManagementDevOps PracticesShift:1st shift (United States of America)Hours Per Week: 40Pay Transparency detailsUS - NJ - Pennington - 1300 American Blvd - Princeton Place At Hopewell Bldg. 3 (NJ2130)Pay and benefits informationPay range$105,600.00 - $165,000.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.Discretionary incentive eligibleThis role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan.
