MTDMN Leadership & Service Internship MAKE THE DIFFERENCE MEDIA NETWORK LEADERSHIP & SERVICE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM OVERVIEW The Leadership & Service Internship prepares emerging leaders to embody MTDMN’s founding philosophy that leadership is an act of service. Rooted in the values of The Fuller Road and Building Caring Families, this internship develops relational leadership, emotional presence, and culturally grounded service practices. Ideal for youth and adult leaders seeking to strengthen integrity, purpose, and impact. PROGRAM GOALS 1. Develop a service-centered leadership philosophy. 2. Strengthen emotional and relational leadership skills. 3. Support MTDMN’s national belonging movement. 4. Build personal identity and purpose pathways. 5. Learn ethical, trauma-informed, and culturally respectful leadership practices. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Participate in MTDMN leadership labs and coaching circles. • Support youth and community storytelling initiatives. • Assist in designing belonging- and service-focused projects. • Facilitate reflective discussions and peer learning groups. • Model relational leadership in MTDMN workshops and events. • Identify opportunities to uplift individuals and communities. • Contribute perspectives to MTDMN leadership development content. LEARNING OUTCOMES Interns will: • Demonstrate culturally humble, dignifying leadership. • Facilitate supportive and emotionally safe conversations. • Understand how purpose and service shape identity. • Apply relational leadership practices across communities and organizations. • Guide others through challenges with clarity, empathy, and steadiness. • Recognize leadership as impact rather than authority. INTERNSHIP EXPERIENCE INCLUDES • Weekly Leadership Labs. • Mentorship from MTDMN and community leaders. • Hands-on leadership practice during MTDMN events. • Service-learning opportunities focused on belonging. • Reflective journaling and purpose pathway coaching. • Final project: Leadership Through Service Portfolio. WHO SHOULD APPLY Compassionate, curious, reliable individuals with a desire to uplift others. No prior leadership experience required only willingness to serve with integrity. IMPACT This internship shapes leaders who strengthen communities, support youth and families, and embody MTDMN’s mission. Graduates emerge with a grounded leadership philosophy, practical service experience, and a clearer sense of purpose and identity.
