Nexus Inspections and Testing LLC provides optimized special inspections tailored to clients’ specific needs and strict timelines. Our projects include new buildings, alterations, and renovations of existing buildings, contributing to the iconic New York City skyline. Key Responsibilities: • Perform NYC Department of Buildings Special Inspections in accordance with the NYC Building Code, industry standards, and approved construction documents. • Conduct structural special inspections including concrete, steel, masonry, welding, bolting, soils, foundations, structural piles, support of excavation, structural stability, curtain walls, mechanical, fireproofing, firestopping, and building energy systems. • Perform site observations and inspections for compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and applicable codes. • Prepare detailed inspection reports, inspection logs, and NCR logs, as well as progress documentation using Department of Buildings-approved formats. • Identify non-conforming work and coordinate corrective actions with foremen, contractors, superintendents, and project design applicants. • Coordinate with project managers, inspectors, contractors, and design professionals. • Maintain inspection schedules and ensure timely completion of required inspections. • Attend site meetings and respond to field-related technical questions. • Travel to job sites as required. Qualifications: • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural/Geotechnical Engineering (Master’s degree is a plus). • Licenses and Certificates: o Driver’s License o 30-Hour OSHA + SST card (preferred, or obtain within 1 month) o ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I (required) o ACI Concrete Construction Special Inspector, or ICC-CSI (required) o ICC Structural Steel and Bolting Inspector (preferred) o AWS CWI or ICC-SWI (preferred) o ICC Structural Masonry Inspector (preferred) • Experience: 1 4 years of special inspections experience in NY, with exposure to commercial, residential, assembly, educational, and institutional projects. • Software Skills: Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam (and similar tools). • Local Authority Knowledge: Familiarity with NYC Department of Buildings regulations and OSHA regulations. • Soft Skills: Strong communication, self-motivation, and teamwork abilities.
