Duties Prepare and present high-quality sushi and omakase dishes using fresh ingredients. Collaborate with the kitchen team to design innovative menus that reflect seasonal offerings and customer preferences. Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety standards and regulations. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, including proper food storage practices. Utilize advanced knife skills for precise cutting and presentation of sushi ingredients. Oversee the cooking process, ensuring that all dishes are cooked to perfection. Assist in catering events as needed, providing exceptional service and culinary expertise. Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and best practices. Skills Proven experience in the culinary field with a focus on fine dining and Japanese cuisine. Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food handling within a restaurant environment. Familiarity with dietary department operations or experience as a dietary aide is a plus. Excellent menu planning skills that cater to diverse dietary needs while maintaining quality. Comprehensive knowledge of food safety standards and practices. Exceptional knife skills essential for sushi preparation. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining attention to detail. Previous catering experience is advantageous, along with strong serving skills.
