Job Title: Data Governance Analyst Finance (Banking Domain) Location: New York, NY 10004 (Onsite: 3 days/week) Duration: 6 12+ Months Rate: $Market/Hour (USD all-inclusive) NOTE: The client will only consider candidates who are local to the NY/NJ area. Relocation candidates and non-local profiles will not be accepted. Experience: 8-10+ Years Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Data Governance Analyst to support the Finance organization within a leading banking institution. This role plays a key part in strengthening data accuracy, transparency, and control across Finance data used for financial reporting, regulatory reporting, capital & liquidity management, product control, and risk processes. The ideal candidate brings strong exposure to banking finance functions and hands-on experience in data governance, data quality, and data lineage. You will work closely with Finance, Risk, Operations, Technology, and Enterprise Data teams to ensure regulatory compliance and enhance trust in critical financial data. Key Responsibilities: • Govern and manage Finance Critical Data Elements (CDEs) in alignment with enterprise data governance policies • Define, implement, and monitor data quality rules, thresholds, and controls • Build and maintain end-to-end Finance data lineage from source systems to regulatory and financial reports • Partner with Finance SMEs, Product Control, Treasury, Capital & Liquidity, and Regulatory Reporting teams • Translate Finance and regulatory requirements into clear business and functional data specifications • Identify data quality, control, and lineage gaps and drive remediation efforts • Support testing, UAT, validation, and sign-off of data governance initiatives • Participate in data governance forums and provide reporting to senior management Key Skills: Core Data Skills: • Finance Data Governance & Data Quality Management • End-to-End Data Lineage (Finance-focused) • Data mapping, modeling, and integration concepts • SQL for data analysis and validation Banking & Finance Knowledge: • Strong understanding of banking Finance functions • Financial products and trade lifecycle knowledge • General Ledger (GL) management & Balance Sheet reporting • Cost attribution and accounting policy interpretation • Financial statement preparation Capital & Liquidity: • Capital adequacy assessment • RWA calculation and analysis • Stress capital analysis • Liquidity Coverage Ratio (LCR) • Cash flow forecasting Regulatory & Risk: • BCBS 239, SOX, Basel, CCAR, FR Y reporting • Regulatory reporting data controls and reconciliation Soft Skills • Stakeholder management across Finance, Risk, and Technology • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Ability to translate complex financial concepts into data requirements
