BigFoot Staffing is excited to offer you this direct hire opportunity to join our client's industry-leading Design Engineer team in Portland, OR.


Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and driven Industrial Design Engineer to join our client's team. In this role, you will support the design and production of electric motor-driven industrial air compressors, vacuum pumps, blowers, and air dryer assemblies. Your expertise will help our client deliver innovative, high-quality industrial air solutions to their customers.


Essential Job Duties

  • Customer-Focused Project Management: Lead and manage complex projects to meet customer specifications within tight timelines.
  • Design & Engineering:
  • Develop industrial packages that meet precise customer needs.
  • Create robust structural designs and select appropriate materials and components.
  • Generate detailed Bills of Materials (BOMs) and process documentation.
  • Provide detailed CAD drawings for mechanical fabrication and assembly.
  • Design electrical control schematics.
  • Documentation & Testing: Manage piping and instrumentation diagrams and shop test procedures.


Additional Job Duties

  • Provide engineering support for production staff to ensure smooth operations.
  • Support the sales team through specification reviews, cost estimates, and design consultations.


Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, preferably BSME.
  • FE/EIT certification is desirable.
  • Experience in mechanical and electrical system integration.


Preferred Skills

  • Expertise in 3D solid modeling, large assembly management, and detailed drawing creation per ASME Y14.5 standards (PTC CREO and Windchill preferred).
  • Familiarity with general fabrication and assembly procedures, tools, and techniques.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Energetic, motivated, and a collaborative team player.


Physical Demands

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.


Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $85,000 - $105,000 annually.
