SUMMARY

The Maintenance Foreman Mobile Fleets is a key member of the maintenance management team, responsible for the maintenance and management of the company Mobile Fleets, both surface and underground.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Ensures maintenance efficiencies and performance in cooperation with Mine Operations.

Works with the Maintenance Planner Mobile Fleets and the Mine Superintendent to meet immediate and long-term maintenance requirements and goals in support of production goals.

Works with the Reliability Engineer to ensure relevant, up to date PMs are being applied to the Mobile Fleet.

Provide oversight to the Maintenance Supervisors in ensuring the execution of the preventive maintenance schedule as per the company Maintenance Work Management Process.

Works with the Maintenance Superintendent to deliver accurate Capital and Operational budgets.

Provide direction on mobile fleet major overhauls and shutdowns.Ensure priorities are established and movement forward.

Provide direction to the Maintenance Supervisors Mobile Fleets on major emergency repairs to mobile equipment.

Manage and coordinate contract maintenance on mobile equipment, both on-site and off-site contract work.

Vendor liaison.Work with vendors to address issues and determine requirements for equipment and parts.

Participate in Risk Assessment activities as required.

Participate / facilitate the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as required.

Initiate and participate in Root Cause Analysis activities as required.

Constantly seek to reduce risks and improve safety outcomes.

Attends meetings as required, including training and department meetings.

Performs activities of hourly employees supervised, per the bargaining agreement, in the case of an emergency, when necessary to instruct employees in their duties, for minor work that is unreasonable to assign to a bargaining unit employee, or to provide training for salaried personnel.

Follows and understands MSHA rules and regulations, environmental rules and regulations, SOP and work area instructions, participates in safety and environmental activities. Leads by example by adhering to rules and regulations, and ensuring compliance to rules and regulations established by the Lucky Friday.

Must be able to work and communicate with other members of the work team.

Must be willing to comply with all company policies and procedures.

  • Comply with applicable environmental laws and regulations. Conducts activities and work in an environmentally responsible manner. Is aware of procedures to minimize impacts to the environment.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintenance Supervisors Mobile Fleets

Directly supervises the Maintenance Supervisors Mobile Fleets. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with companys policies, applicable laws, and the bargaining agreement. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Participate in employee relations/disciplinary meetings as required, including grievance meetings for hourly employees.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma.

Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or technical/vocational certification preferred.

  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience in maintenance.
  • Experience in underground mobile equipment maintenance.
  • Good understanding of underground mining operations preferred.
  • Must be computer literate and proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Prior supervisory experience.

TRAINING OR SPECIAL SKILLS

Strong oral and written communication and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work with others in a team environment.

Must possess a valid drivers license.

Formal training in the principles of equipment reliability engineering preferred.

Formal training in maintenance work management and shutdown processes preferred.

Familiarity with IFS business system preferred.


LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees, regulators and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

ATF possessors clearance required.

Must complete MSHA 40-hour training or provide 5000-23 documentation of completed training.

Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
