Role Overview
As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing and building scalable machine learning systems that power our AI-native ad platform. You will collaborate closely with the engineering team to develop and optimize ML models and pipelines, integrating them into a low-latency, high-throughput backend system.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, train, and deploy machine learning models that drive ad recommendations and bidding systems within our AI-native advertising platform.
  • Build and optimize NLP pipelines to interpret user intent, enabling real-time product recommendations and personalized ads.
  • Design and scale the machine learning infrastructure to support large-scale, AI-driven ad systems, ensuring low latency and high reliability.
  • Explore and implement new ML algorithms and techniques to continuously improve system performance and scalability.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including backend engineers and product managers, to align business objectives with technical solutions.
  • Utilize cloud platforms (GCP, AWS) and distributed computing technologies to manage and scale machine learning models.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in machine learning, with expertise in deep learning architectures and frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow.
  • Strong proficiency in NLP (Natural Language Processing) and large language models (LLMs), including experience building and optimizing embedding models.
  • Hands-on experience with Python and related ML libraries.
  • Knowledge of backend systems, including API development, database optimization, and high-concurrency environment management.
  • Experience in ads systems, including familiarity with bidding, auction algorithms, and optimizing ad performance metrics.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS) and distributed computing technologies is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, ability to iterate quickly, and eagerness to experiment with innovative solutions.
  • Self-starter mindset with the ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced startup environment.
  • Mandarin or experience working with international teams is a plus but not required.
