Job DescriptionJob DescriptionOverview: The CT Technician plays a critical role in the healthcare team, responsible for producing high-quality imaging of the patient's body using computed tomography (CT) technology. This position is pivotal in diagnostics and treatment planning, allowing physicians to make informed decisions about patient care. CT Technicians must possess specialized knowledge of anatomy, radiological procedures, and patient safety measures to ensure effective imaging. They will work closely with radiologists and other medical personnel to provide essential support in achieving accurate diagnoses. Moreover, they must demonstrate compassion and understanding towards patients, ensuring a comfortable environment during imaging processes. Given the complexity and precision required in this role, CT Technicians are integral to delivering high-quality healthcare and exemplary patient experiences.Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and position patients for CT procedures.
  • Operate CT equipment to obtain images as per physician's protocols.
  • Monitor patients throughout the imaging process, ensuring their safety.
  • Properly instruct patients on procedures and explain the importance of cooperation.
  • Administer contrast agents and medications as directed and monitor for reactions.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and imaging data.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and health regulations in imaging practices.
  • Communicate effectively with medical staff regarding patient conditions and imaging requirements.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CT equipment.
  • Maintain an organized and sterile work environment.
  • Assist with quality control measures and imaging protocols.
  • Participate in continuous education programs and workshops.
  • Review images for quality and consistency, ensuring all standards are met.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to improve patient care.
  • Stay updated with advancements in radiology and CT technology.
Required Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field.
  • Valid certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in CT.
  • State licensure as required for CT Technicians.
  • Previous experience in CT imaging preferred but not mandatory.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Strong understanding of anatomy and pathology.
  • Proficiency in operating imaging equipment and technology.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of radiation safety and infection control procedures.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and electronic health records (EHR).
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions.
  • Capable of managing stressful situations with poise.
  • Commitment to continuing education and professional development.
