Manager, Product Strategy

The Product Strategy Manager is responsible for overall product development strategy, execution, and management within their networks. The Product Strategy Manager collaborates in-network and cross-departmentally to ensure the delivery of cohesive, consumer relevant product lines. The Product Strategy Manager’s expert knowledge of their network accounts makes them the primary point of contact for product information and responsible for presenting product lines internally and externally. Involvement is at every phase of the product development process and the Product Strategy Manager is responsible for allocating resources when necessary and implementing standards in training and development.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ability to manage, lead and motivate a team of employees towards goals and objectives.
- Manages, plans, and tracks the development schedule of network accounts to ensure on-time completion.
- Collaborates closely with Product Supervisors, Project Managers, Product Specialist, Design Leads, and Sales team through clear communication, teamwork, and support to ensure all tasks are assigned and completed according to the development timeline.
- Proactively researches market trends through store visits, benchmarking, WGSN and internal trend presentations.
- Manages customer relevant data, market and store research and communicates it effectively to the networks.
- Communicates with customer regarding specific requirements, preferences, and feedback.
- Review artwork and samples to ensure a cohesive, trend, market, and customer relevant line.
- Leads and presents product, data analytics, trend, and market research as it applies to the product line internally and externally.
- Works with Sourcing, RDI and Global Strategy teams as needed.
- Initiates and manages communication for merchandising needs.
- Submits sample orders and accurately communicates product specifications with factories.
- Maintains and monitors licensed product approval process.
- Manages quality check and sample approval process before sending for production approval.
- Works with Customer Order Processing and Purchasing to ensure customer ship dates are met.
- Communicates necessary feedback to networks following reviews.
- Leads and trains in all internal Headwear Programs.
- Manages inline program timelines and execution through to completion.
- Ability to attend trade shows and customer meetings as required.
- Demonstrates a robust knowledge of Outdoor Cap’s brands, products, and systems.
- Protects Outdoor Cap and its property by securing artwork that is shared outside of the company.

Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education experience
- 3+ years of relevant experience, Apparel Manufacturing background a plus
- Strong analytical experience with the ability to interpret sales data, customer preferences, store/market research, and input from Sales and Design to build a cohesive customer relevant product line.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Internal PDS system.
Physical/Mental Requirements
- Highly proficient with verbal and written communication; adept to exchange accurate information and engage in conflict resolution strategies with a positive can-do attitude.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position (seated) 80% of the day and occasionally reach, bend, and move.

- Adapt to moderate noise (Example: collaborative team environment, office with computers, printing, and light traffic)
- Ability to move 10-25 lbs. occasionally throughout day.
- Able to hear a telephone ring.
- Required to have close visual acuity to perform computer tasks and operate other office machinery.
- Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors)
- Domestic travel up to 30%
