Overview:
The Lead Controls Engineer plays a pivotal role in our organization, overseeing the design, development, and implementation of control systems for our various projects. This key position is responsible for leading a team of controls engineers, providing technical expertise, and ensuring the successful execution of control system projects.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a team of controls engineers to execute projects effectively and efficiently.
  • Design, develop, and implement control system solutions, including PLC programming and HMI development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of control systems with other project components.
  • Oversee the testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of control systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior controls engineers to foster their professional development.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to deliver projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance control system design and implementation processes.
  • Communicate project updates and progress reports to key stakeholders and project teams.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a controls engineering environment.
  • Strong expertise in control system design, development, and implementation.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming, HMI development, and industrial communication protocols.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory standards, such as NEC, UL, and CE, as they relate to control systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex control system issues.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to lead a team and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented approach with a strong focus on quality and reliability of control system solutions.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects concurrently.
