SUMMARY

Takes direction from Engineering Manager or Manufacturing Engineer as required to coordinate and create manufacturing equipment programs as directed, review manufacturing processes as needed and suggest/implement technical solutions to process issues by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible for machine programming on equipment designated by the Engineering Manager, expanding to encompass multiple equipment types throughout the manufacturing floor as required.
  • Work with Engineering and Manufacturing to develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing processes as well as recommending to engineers any updates/changes needed to work instructions.
  • Confers with Engineering staff concerning customer product design and available tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
  • Continually review current process and make recommendations for improvements and/or efficiency gains to Engineering Staff.
  • Assist with equipment planning, installation, implementation, and validation.
  • Continuously work to become the Subject Matter Expert on equipment programming/operation, create operating documentation, and provide training for this equipment.
  • Estimates production times, asset requirements and related costs to provide information for management decisions as necessary.
  • Ability to train operators and technicians to procedures and processes.
  • Follow appropriate quality policies and procedures.
  • Perform work to appropriate efficiency and utilization standards.
  • Practice and participate in Continuous Improvement and Lean activities, supporting change and identifying ways to improve processes and efficiency.
  • Actively participate in work group/team activities, as an enthusiastic, positive and dependable team member.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area and environment.
  • Provide input to problem solving process and possess good communication skills.
  • Expected to follow all policies and procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • The work performed in this job can only be done on-site and attendance is an essential function of the job.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

College studies in Machine Language and/or Machine programming preferred. Three years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Electronics manufacturing equipment programming/operating experience strongly preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

The ability to read, speak, write and understand English to enable clear communication and comprehension of documentation. Ability to read, analyze and interpret common manufacturing documents, technical specifications, machine reports, and other manufacturing process or equipment related documents as required.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Basic math skills will be required to add, subtract, multiply and divide. Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts required. Must be able to work fluently in metric as well as ASE measurement systems.

REASONING ABILITY

Able to understand and determine product quality to written documentation and applicable standards. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; to interpret a variety of technical instructions in written or software form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have basic computer skills (ie: ability to access company computer and email, basic typing skills, and expected to follow IT policies including secure password requirements)
  • With in-house training and support, must achieve a passing score on the Milwaukee Electronics Component identification course.
  • With in-house training and support, must achieve a passing score on the IPC-A-610 Workmanship standard awareness course.
  • Able to read and comprehend component data sheets and other technical drawings.
  • Expected to contribute to Safe Work Practices: reports safety incidents (and near-misses) immediately, follows the Building Evacuation policy, adheres to PPE requirements outlined in the Respiratory Protection Policy (if applicable), and follows safety measures outlined in the Lead Safety Policy.
  • Milwaukee Electronics is a DDTC Registered Company and all employees are expected to follow the requirements of the Arms Exports Controls Act and the Company ITAR Procedure.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this position, employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Vision requirements include: close & distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
