Structural Project Engineer – Sports & Community-Centered Facilities

Are you passionate about shaping the future of sports facilities and empowering communities through innovative design? Holmes US is looking for a talented Project Engineer with a focus on sports and community facilities to join our dynamic team.

About Us:

At Holmes, we design and engineer solutions that inspire. With a global reputation for creative problem-solving and innovative designs, we’re committed to delivering high-quality projects that stand the test of time. We are specifically looking for someone to focus on facilities for professional, collegiate, and K-12 sports along with community-centered recreation venues

Our team takes pride in creating spaces where people come together to cheer, play, and connect. From regional community hubs to athletic venues, Holmes is where creativity and collaboration meet engineering excellence.

(And don’t worry—you don’t need to know the offside rule or memorize batting averages for this job. We’re here for the structures, not the scores)

Your Role:

As a Project Engineer, you will:

  • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and stakeholders to design innovative sports facilities that meet the highest structural and safety standards.

  • Guide and contribute to the engineering and design of structures for community centers, school sports complexes, collegiate athletic venues, and professional facilities.

  • Use your expertise to solve complex structural challenges while balancing creativity, budget, and performance requirements.

  • Mentor junior team members and foster a collaborative environment that aligns with Holmes' commitment to learning and growth.

  • Partner with clients and community members to ensure our projects are functional, sustainable, and impactful.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 4–6 years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on sports and recreation projects, or similar projects

  • Experience working with a variety of materials, including steel, concrete, timber, and light gauge steel.

  • Strong understanding of building codes, seismic and wind design.

  • Proven ability to guide multiple projects, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and deliver innovative solutions within project constraints

  • Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., ETABS, SAP2000, RAM, or similar).

  • PE license preferred.

What We Offer:

  • A dynamic and collaborative workplace that celebrates design excellence and engineering ingenuity.

  • Exciting projects that make a real impact in local communities.

  • Opportunities for professional growth and development in a supportive, inclusive environment.

  • Competitive benefits and a flexible work culture with a hybrid schedule (3 days in the office per week). Depending on your employment status, benefits may include:
    • Comprehensive Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, AD&D, Short-term and Long-term Disability and other voluntary plans
    • Flexible Spending Accounts for Medical & Childcare
    • Health Savings Account
    • Pet Insurance
    • Employee Assistance Program
    • Paid Time off - Vacation, Sick, Personal Leave, Family Leave for new parents, and Community Service time
    • Paid Holidays
    • Pre-Tax Commuter Transit
    • 401(k) retirement savings with Company contribution
    • Company-sponsored events
    • Diversity / Inclusion programs and initiatives

Compensation

Base salary: $80,000 - $100,000 + biannual profit share bonus potential.  Salary will be commensurate with experience/skills and location.
