This is a remote position.
First Due, a quickly growing SaaS technology company providing an end-to-end software platform for Fire and EMS agencies is searching for a full-time paralegal to support our Contracts and Operations teams, helping us deliver on our goal to make our communities safer and better informed through best-in-class public safety technology.
The Role
As a paralegal, you will support a variety of functions and teams, including contract management, corporate governance, intellectual property, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of legal principles, excellent research and organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment. First Due's paralegal will:
- Assist in the drafting, reviewing, and editing of contracts and legal documents, including vendor agreements, customer contracts, and licensing agreements.
- Maintain and organize contract files, ensuring timely renewals and amendments.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure contractual obligations are met.
- Maintain corporate records and filings, including managing compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Help with the management of company's legal entities, subsidiaries, and corporate structure.
- Assist in intellectual property matters, including patent, trademark, and copyright filings and renewals.
- Help manage IP-related documentation and ensure proper IP protection policies are followed.
- Assist in internal audits and risk assessments.
- Maintain awareness of legal trends, updates, and best practices that could impact the company.
- Support litigation efforts, including document preparation, discovery, and filing.
- Assist in managing legal workflows and ensuring timely response to legal matters.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and external counsel as needed.
Requirements
Skills, Experience, and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of paralegal experience in a SaaS, government technology, or corporate setting
- Familiarity with contract law, intellectual property, and privacy regulations
- Experience with legal research tools and document management software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem-solving mindset and ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Positive, can-do attitude with a willingness to learn.
- Notary public certification
