Job DescriptionJob Description

The Solution Design Engineer (SDE) works Sales, Client Relations, and existing clients to offer solutions that will grow the Visory client base in a profitable manner. The Solution Design Engineer provides technical knowledge to the Sales and Client Relations Teams, as well as the Procurement Team, to assist with identifying solutions for prospects and customers. This position will work on any other initiatives and ongoing projects as assigned in addition to any duties the Company may assign. This position will report to the Director, Product + Solutioning.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Work with client relations to solicit new business opportunities from existing Visory clients for replacement of existing equipment and improvement of IT environment.
  • Work with the Sales Team as a technical resource to assess business needs and translate those into technical specifications, design solutions using the Visory portfolio of services to meet those needs and provide support to the salesperson(s) delivering the solution overview to the prospective client.
  • Drafts or assists with the drafting of presentation, documentation and materials that explain products and services to customers
  • Communicate customer feedback and perspectives to the appropriate teams to be considered in product strategy
  • Gather information for the KB9000 for all opportunities generated by the Technical Sales Engineer.
  • Work with the Project and Implementation Team Manager and assigned Project Engineer to complete SOW.
  • Provide technical support to Procurement as needed (i.e. New PC Specs)
  • Provide on-site client support when required.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest technology platforms being supported and promoted by Visory.
  • Ensure timely management and escalation of tickets

Required Education and Experience:

Minimum 2-4 years of experience in Information Technology IT Security in a NOC environment working with a broad range of technologies.Demonstrated knowledge of general networking and security principles and practices required.Experience with Windows Servers, Desktops and Laptops. Experience with network configuration and troubleshooting.Experience with Microsoft Azure, 365, and cloud services management platforms.Experience with Microsoft Active Directory services, including Group Policy, Print Management, DNS, and DHCP.Experience with Firewall management and deployment.Experience with data and mail migrations from various sources.

Ability to understand and interpret client needs, aligning technical capabilities with business objectivesStrong analytical skillsCritical thinking and problem-solving skillsStrong documentation skills for design documentation, workflows, and architecture diagrams with sharp attention to detailAbility to conduct research and absorb and retain information quickly.Highly self-motivated and directed Ability to effectively manage multiple projects or phases from scoping and design through to handoff to the Project and Implementation TeamExceptional customer service orientationExperience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.Strong time management and communication skillsAbility to present and explain program specifications and technical requirements in an easily understood, non-technical manner.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred, preferably in Computer Science or related technical field
  • Requires experience in enterprise technology sales experience, hosted services, IT service sales, or cybersecurity technical sales role

Physical Requirements:

  • This position could require moderate travel to client sites
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Ability to lift up to 15lbs
