The Opportunity:

The Sr. Accountant assists with leading the accounting operations of the company’s accounting department, reconciling accounts, budget management, cash flow, and management of accounts payable system.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Accounting Department Support
    • Contribute to daily operations, month-end and year-end financial processes
    • Handle assigned account reconciliations and JE postings.
  • Assistant Controller Assistance
    • Manage Cash flow, Bank Transfers and other assigned tasks
  • Accounts Payable and Cards
    • Provide support for Accounts payable when necessary
    • Administer Corporate Card Program
    • Administrator of Expense and Invoice management system
  • Fiscal Management
    • Standardize fiscal files and records
    • Assist with monthly close and claims payment re-issuance
  • Budgeting and Analysis
    • Support annual budgets and reconcile FTE’s
    • Analyze budget vs actual and address discrepancies monthly reviewing for new spend trend
  • Spend Management and Audits
    • Support financial and regulatory audits
  • Process Improvements
    • Implement process improvements and policies
  • Reporting and Projects
    • Prepare reports and undertake special projects as assigned
  • Team Collaboration and Office Duties
    • Attend meetings and assist with office tasks
  • Responsible to maintain AlohaCare’s confidential information in accordance with AlohaCare policies, and state and federal laws, rules and regulations regarding confidentiality. Employees have access to AlohaCare data based on the data classification assigned to this job title.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis in Accounting, Business Administration, Health Care Administration, or related field.
  • 2-4 years of progressive accounting experience, including experience in accounts payable, bank and general reconciliations, cash flow forecasting, and budget management.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Excellent computer skills and able to learn new systems efficiently
  • Advanced skills using Microsoft Programs; Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Demonstrated strong skills in providing solutions and/or troubleshooting complex accounting issues.
  • Achieves results, builds trust, communicates effectively; customer and quality focused.
  • Ability to multi-task, organize, adapt to changing priorities, manage a diversity of high priority projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Requires operation of general office equipment to include PC, fax/copy machine and ACD Mitel Phones.

Preferred Requirements

  • CPA or MBA
  • Proven experience with Access, and Microsoft Dynamics GP or NetSuite
  • Experience in not-for-profit, managed care organization, hospital, medical office, or equivalent
  • Experience with Concur Expense and Invoice Management System

Mental, Physical and Environmental Demands:

  • Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.

Salary Range: $65,000 - $80,000 annually
