PMC consists of over 130 providers, approximately 750 employees, and 16 locations. This role requires working four weekdays (Monday through Friday) and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 11:30 AM.
What will you do as a PMC Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner:
You'll play a key role in patient care by working in collaboration with a supervising physician. Emphasis on patient care, stable acute illness reprieve, health promotion, and illness/injury prevention. Coordinates staffing and orientation of assigned team members. Plans and conducts ongoing education and training. Maintains infection control/safety standards, and is committed to providing and promoting patient-centered communication and care.
A day in the life of a PMC Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner may include:
- Assess patient health status including state of wellness, compliance with care plan and determines appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Provide acute and chronic patient care including taking histories, d monitoring therapies, giving injections and medications
- Triage patient calls and evaluates patient problems.
- Make responsible decisions within the scope of a dependent medical practitioner.
- Respond to emergencies including use of CPR.
- Document patient information and care provided in patient record and maintains department statistics. Uses computer to access/enter needed data.
- Develop as needed health education programs and materials
- Work collaboratively with all members of health care team.
- Educate patients and families as appropriate.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Required Qualifications
- Must have an active license to practice nursing in the state of North Carolina as a Registered Nurse. Must have written approval by the North Carolina Board of Nursing and the North Carolina Medical Board to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or current North Carolina PA license, certified by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
- BLS/CPR Certification required
Preferred Qualifications
- Two or more years of work experience as a NP or PA preferred.
