ComResouce is looking for a Senior Data Engineer – Data Modeler.

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer with strong expertise in data modeling to join our dynamic team. As a Data Modeler, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality data models for various applications across the enterprise, from business applications to analytical insights. In this position, you will have the opportunity to lead data modeling initiatives, collaborate with a cross-functional team, and contribute to the advancement of data strategies and architectures.

The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, results-driven individual with extensive experience in data modeling, data management, and database design. You should have a passion for problem-solving and an eagerness to work with new technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and translate business requirements into long-term, scalable data models.
  • Lead the creation of business, logical, and physical data models, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical standards.
  • Continuously monitor and improve existing data models to enhance business support.
  • Collaborate with business services, software engineering teams, and enterprise architects to develop and maintain consistent and efficient data models.
  • Develop and enforce best practices for data modeling to ensure consistency across systems.
  • Evaluate implemented data systems for discrepancies and inefficiencies.
  • Author architecture documents, design specifications, and data flow diagrams.
  • Enforce standards for data naming conventions and model reuse.
  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to understand data sources, data integration needs, and downstream applications.
  • Provide guidance to Data Engineering teams on building, populating, and maintaining an enterprise data model.
  • Assist end-users in understanding and leveraging data models for their applications.
  • Work with platform teams to optimize data mapping and mastering functions.
  • Conduct data profiling and mapping for data migration projects.
  • Continuously assess and reverse-engineer legacy systems to define new data models.

Essentials:

  • 10+ years of experience in IT, with at least 5+ years of hands-on data modeling experience (Business, Logical, Physical models).
  • Extensive experience with 3NF, BPMN, Data Vault, and dimensional modeling (star/snowflake).
  • Proficiency with data modeling tools such as Erwin, ER/Studio, or Archi.
  • 3+ years of experience with data governance, data quality, master data management, and metadata management.
  • Strong SQL skills with 5+ years of experience.
  • Proven experience with database design for Enterprise Data Warehouses, Data Hubs, Delta Lakes, and Analytics Marts.
  • Expertise in data migration, data profiling, and data mapping.
  • 2+ years of experience working with Master/Reference Data and data models for SAP ECC and Salesforce.
  • 2+ years of experience in DBA or development roles with RDBMS systems.
  • Strong consulting, customer relationship, and communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Desired:

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies, including Safe, LeSS, or Modern Agile practices.
  • Ability to work in a waterfall IT controls environment.
  • Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., Cosmos DB, MongoDB).
